For many years, he has taught drawing and painting in his studio and collaborated with various art schools. Recently, he taught drawing at the Figurative Painting School, Milano Painting Academy.

These experiences enrich his artistic practice and nourish his teaching approach. Every course he leads is designed to inspire, encourage, and guide participants in their own artistic journey.

Dongni Hou

Co-founder at Lux Aeterna Paris.

Dongni was born in China in 1987. She has been passionate about the visual arts since a young age, practicing in her home country before crossing the border at 19 to join the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia. After eight years of study, she graduated with a Master’s degree at the age of 27.

To better understand contemporary art and its concepts, she decided to move to France, where she studied for two years at the École Supérieure d’Art du Nord Pas-de-Calais. She now lives in France, and her paintings are represented by prestigious galleries in Paris, the United States, and other countries.

A portrait artist, Dongni is a remarkable example of artistic dedication. During her sessions, she encourages participants to go beyond technical gestures and capture the essence and emotion of the subject. Her workshops offer a unique perspective that aligns with Lux Aeterna’s approach: art as both an inner exploration and an outward expression.

Our commitments

Lux Aeterna Atelier is committed to reviving figurative painting, a discipline long overlooked but now passionately and expertly taught by our dedicated team. We strive to provide a rigorous and comprehensive education that empowers you to grow as an artist while preserving your individual style.

Drawing inspiration from Renaissance workshops, we place drawing at the center of our teaching philosophy, distancing ourselves from simplified methods like Bargue’s approach, introduced in the late 19th century. Although visually appealing and easy to teach, its superficiality and narrow scope ultimately hinder an artist’s long-term development.

Our goal is to equip you with the foundational tools needed for a complete artistic practice, even when they require significant dedication to master: anatomy, proportions, perspective, hatching, chiaroscuro, geometry, and spatial visualization.
